Quote:@Dearborn .. "and who would make a ring out of a dime? once you got the rim wide enough, the center hole would be so small that only a baby could wear it (for a week)"... Quote: ...no one with any good sense... was just saying (possibly) how the damage was done, as I've done the same thing, in the manner I described ... try it, if ya wanna waste a coin ... lol ... you'll get this effect ... Oh I have several times way back in the '60's with a quarter or a Franklin half - drove my Mom nutz!!

probably money laundering, small scale...There are several of these, different sellers, little to no feedback, different locations, so , small-scale, organized money laundering ...

Unbelievable... Either a shill bid or something fishy as mrwhiskers suggests.

Penny Error Bent 1943 D No Wheat Stamp Mark.US $2,499.00 - free shipping, though. "I believe it says 1943 d. If it does and it doesn't have a wheat mark on the back then that's a big error. Buyer beware I cannot determine the exact number but it looks like 1943. It's something a coin expert would love. It's also bent. So of it turns out to not be 1943d after cleaning etc. Then obviously you can return it but it looks to me like a huge error coin." But auction says seller does not accept returns. https://www.ebay.com/itm/266568465083

1994 P Washington quarter Error Period Between I And B WOW!! IMPOSSIBLE!! US $2,450.00 https://www.ebay.com/itm/394811956243"Ladies and gentleman, oh my goodness yes I have it and yes you've seen it there is a solid period between I and B in Liberty this is just impossible the strike must have shifted or something of that nature to create this freak among freak errors. No others like this exist at least as far as We Know. This could be worth an absorbent amount of money for what I'm putting it up for is more than a bargain." - It looks like a die chip to me. Not worth posting a pic.
