One of my banks (finally) had a few Ikes tonight...$476 in Ikes, so I'll be looking through them this weekend!

Here are the $476 in Ikes sorted by year and MM. D mints are the stacks in the foreground, P mints are the stacks in the background. As you can see there are far more D mints than P mints for all years '71-'78.

There are 2, '76 proofs in the foreground of the '76 "column". One proof is circulated and the other is AU.

I've looked at the '72-Ps and found 1, Type 1. The remaining '72-Ps are Type 3. I also found a few Variety 1 bicentennials. There were about 45, ''71-Ds in BU...otherwise nothing else of note.

I've already found a buyer for the coins I'm not keeping...gotta love earning 10% AND I get to keep the coins I want, which filled 3 slots in my Dansco

Looks like a lot of fun.

Although I would have a difficult time letting go of the rejects.

Jbuck, I've now sold over 600 Ikes to the same individual. They tell me they are nostalgic about them.

I'm making good progress on my Dansco and I've additionally set aside about 100 Ikes in BU/MS. No offense, but I cannot imagine holding on to all the Ikes I come across...Space in my safe is limited!

That individual is a wise being.

Yes, space would be a concern. It is probably why I have made no effort to acquire Ikes for searching.

I think we all know it's because you would never be able to give the rejects up and would be stuck with thousands of dollars worth of Ikes hidden around your house.

On page 27 of this thread I posted about my friend who received several Morgan and Peace dollars for face value on his last day managing a local credit union. He told me today he needed some cash before Christmas so he sold all of them for less than melt!

I almost tossed my cookies.

I made a deal with him tonight that from this point on he'll sell me the silver coins he gets from head tellers at 2 different banking institutions, and I'll pay him melt... I cannot bear the thought of more historic US silver coinage being melted!

Not exactly CRH but while I was dumping some coins at a very good branch that I've got a good relationship with, I asked if they had any Cents or Halves and she said they didn't have any halves but she asked how many Cents I wanted so I asked for $10 worth. She went to go get them so I waited for a while and when she got back I asked if they had any big dollar coins and she said they didn't...........But the customer beside me said she had some coins, she said they were silver dollars from the 1800's and that she was willing to sell them if I wanted them !!! I said yes I would buy them so she wrote down her name and number. I live 30 minutes away from where the town I met her in and I don't have my license yet so I can't drive there yet. So whenever my mom is heading that way I'm going to give her a call and hopefully score! While we were talking at the bank she said that they're Morgan dollars!
