It has been a while since I found a star note; though this note will re-enter circulation soon.

As a circulated note from a large print run, even though a star, it has no meaningful appreciation potential. Better to spend 10 or 50 such notes on something scarcer with a better future.

Got a Star note from my dad when he tried to use it to pay for a couple of cokes at a Eagles lodge.

"tried"? Did you intercept it before he could spend?

Yep.

I switched it out with a dollar I had in my wallet. When he asked what it was I told him, another guy sitting there, and the bartender. She even went and checked the drawer to see if there were anymore in there but there wasn't.

It's a spender, but, I don't spend Star notes, I keep them for a emergency cash fund.

Yep.

I got a 1963-D quarter from my mom that way a few years ago.
