If you liked the series 1995 $2 FRN's, you'll love the series 2003 $2 FRN's. Printed in August, September and October 2003, the BEP once again printed circulating notes for just one district. This time, Minneapolis. Both regular and replacement notes (circulating) are 100% Minneapolis. Sheets and other specialty notes were printed and distributed straight to collectors for all 12 districts. Circulating Minnie stars had a large run, 3.2M and a short run 640K. This note is a short run replacement note.  |

Very nice, and thanks for the HA info. Only sell through HA, and even then not coins/currency.

Can you believe it's been 37 years since the last $10 Minneapolis Star note was printed ? (October 1982) There's also the fact that it's been almost 14 years since ANY $10 star note was printed in Washington DC. This newly acquired GEM is from a short run (320K) of replacement notes.  Edited to ask; What is the appropriate term to describe a coin that is similar to describing a note GEM on the paper money side ? Edited by SteveInTampa

Steve, The Official ANA Grading Standards for US coins doesn't assign adjectives to describe a mint state coin's grade, just the numerical grade. The book does include this note though Quote:Note: The ANA has not established equivalent official adjectives for the listings within the MS-60 to MS-70 range. Commercially, MS-70 coins are often called Perfect Uncirculated, MS-65 coins Gem Uncirculated, and MS-63 coins Choice Uncirculated. In the past, these and other adjectives have been used to designate various grades of condition. AFAIK none of the 4 major grading companies (PCGS, NGC, ANACS, ICG) use adjectives for mint state coins either. Edited by BadDog

Jum - That's a great KC star, looks maybe VF-25 or so? Tend to agree with Steve, save your money. If it were XF, that would be different.
