Quote: People were right when they said there will be a lot of stock available on public release day. Yes, this is truth But when supply (single coin for issue) will be dried a bit, I do expect sales for premium - 200-300 above the issue max.

I think they sold one at 659, and now just raised their price.

Kudos for Gatewest Not so impressed by CC&C artificially spiking up price to entice more to buy whole set-

"Note: This single coin is now priced at current market value. However, you can still get it at the original issue price of $559.95 when you purchase the complete six coin subscription set" This is...ah...distasteful? Firstly, 999 is not the market value. Only the market can determine a market price, not the seller alone. The seller can present an offer but until it is accepted and no other higher or lower sales exist, it is not the true "market value". IMO they are playing somewhat lose to create artificial demand. Secondly, it is widely believed that this dealer commissioned the coins. Assuming that means they got the bulk of the mintage and that they were at least involved in setting the mintage, they have the motive and means to manipulate the market via constricted supply with what appears to be the complicity of the Government of Canada. How can that stand? How is that good for the long term success of the Mint's NCLT business line and the NCLT collecting hobby in general? This is a the continuation of a troubling trend and IMO the Mint needs to step back from these sorts of dubious arrangements.

CC
Then they'll get on tv tomorrow and harp about the quick sell out and jacked up price to the gullible tv crowd - same pattern repeatedly- I'm not a dealer for the record

He's smart. Buying/commissioning these coins will certainly make them a huge profit. It's the big shots that allowed this deal that are at fault. I hope they don't allow this shady practice in the future but I'm sure they will. Without cc&c buying up so many of these coins, I'm sure the issue price would be the market value for some time to come.

I agree with you CC-Ottawa, none have sold on ebay yet. I think CC&C is selling themselves short by raising the price to $999 already.

This was the same tactic used with the first maple leaf shaped coin.
