There are lots of German notgeld with birds on them, see the following 2 scans for example...... The 50 pfennige note is from the town of Uk. The hyper-inflationary note from Voehrenbach has some great imagery...... The proud looking French cockerel stands on the top of a bucket-load of money (debt), with the down-trodden German Eagle at the very bottom - being squeezed to submission under the sheer weight of the amount (Treaty of Versailles reparations).

As long as we're including notgeld (which I view as entirely legitimate for the purposes of this thread), here's a 25 pfennig note issued by the municipality of Stützerbach in Thuringia that features a pheasant (or grouse?).
