this little uptick in my nightly finds must be because of spring break. the reason for it doesn't really matter, but it's something I wonder about.

I'm just happy anything at all is still making it's way to the pavement for me to find.

third time's a charm. tonight I picked a well-scattered $1.10 for a third consecutive night of finding $1+ in coins, $4.33 over those three nights.

Here's my Two Cents: I am a retired schoolteacher from the Bronx. On a class trip to the zoo a student found a wad of bills on the ground, a little more than $200. Being a fourth grader, she and the rest of her friends ran up to give it to me and tell me all about it. Being a fourth grade teacher, I flagged down the first police officer I could find so that the money could be returned to its rightful owner. Needless to say, when the trip was over I heard it over and over again from my colleagues about how foolish I had been and what I should have done with the money. The consensus was the money now belonged to the NYPD. BUT... A couple of days later, I got a call from a guy who owned a restaurant in Westchester County. The money was his and he wanted to thank me and my class personally by inviting us all to his restaurant for lunch. I would like to think that at least one of my old students learned a valuable lesson from the experience. What do you think?
