i chewed two pieces of that gum while at the vet monday afternoon. I wore out my chewer. regular or bubblegum-flavored trident is fine, but the fake fruit flavor is yucky. my $1+ streak ended at 6 consecutive nights as I only picked eighty-nine cents tonight. the last time I had a six night $1+ streak: march 2024. the jar fills slowly, but surely. a pair of quarters I picked from a parking lot tonight, the first coins of the night:

I go to the seaside city of Brighton quite often and almost never pick up coins there. Even if you do find any, it's hard to spend them as so many places now take card payment only! So I was quite surprised yesterday to pick up a humble 2010 penny...

NumisRob, I don't think I've ever seen that coin design before. nice find, I wish I could find one of those. i eked out another $1+ night tonight, picking $1.02 in well-scattered change. I've picked $10.07 over 8 nights, which is terrific.

Quote: NumisRob, I don't think I've ever seen that coin design before. nice find This design was used from 2008-2022: the idea is that you can put the coins together to make a complete British coat-of-arms. The previous 1p reverse showed a portcullis and the new Charles III ones since 2023 show a dormouse, though I haven't heard of any of those being found in circulation yet.

Quote: the idea is that you can put the coins together to make a complete British coat-of-arms. that's pretty cool. I wasn't aware of that. tonight I picked a well-scattered $1.18, including two quarters from a water machine coin return and a quarter & dime from Walgreen's parking lot (pictured).
