@tlw, yes I'm not happy that your button has started to fall apart either. I'm sorry for not being clear enough with my recommendation that you just soak this piece in water and go slow.

If there is no writing on the underside of the button, I'm not sure how you will get an ID other than by comparing with pictures of other buttons. That is a bit beyond our area of expertise here I think.
