It looks like the questions are all used up. Wait to see what comes out of it for answers and hints.

I am not sure that I even want to guess... Seems like we have lost this round.. Almost! If I understood German coins better, I would be willing to guess.

Not so fast James. All hands on deck for this one. We may be near the end, but it's not over yet. We need to call on all the lurkers to guess. We need about 40. Come on back coach.

2. This coin is not dated.
3. This coin is from a European country that has German as an official or co-official language.
4. Nein, this coin could not have been in the pocket of someone as they signed the Punctation of Olmütz (1850).

9. This coin is considered Notgeld.
10. This coin is primarily made of metal.

12. This coin is not considered a city issued coin.
13. This Notgeld coin is a transport issue.
14. This coin is not round.

Despite my interpretation of the rules, I have accepted Gincoin's question so this doesn't last forever. That means that there are 24 hours remaining for guesses!

Incorrect guesses:

(joecoin) This coin is not an H.D.A.G. ferry token from Hamburg.
(Gincoin43) This coin is not a 10 Pfennig from Neuwied [Kreisbahn, Rheinprovinz].
(Greasy Fingers) This coin is not a Nürnberg Strassenbahn 25 pfennig.
(keith12) This coin is not a Nürnberg-Fürther Strassenbahn 20 pfennig featuring die "Burg," or the Holy Roman castle.

I figured a question regarding a defining design element may have been the best way to eliminate many of them, e.g. "Does the coin have a fountain on it?"

yeah but before now there was no reason to suspect there was a fountain on it. There are lots of buildings, a few people, some houses and all would have been a shot in the dark.

There are quite a few with fountains, basically anything with "Brunnen", Wasser Speier, Gänse Männchen... I just gave that as an example because there are fewer than those with buildings.

I think we are down to 23 coins.

Edit-22 because I think keith's guess takes care of one.

Say it didn't have a fountain, I asked if it had a fountain as the last question, and only managed to eliminate 8 or so fewer is only better if you know what is on it.

I agree your method using the reference # was more solid. I hadn't even thought of that approach.

So, who are the regular players still eligible to guess? I know James, loonielewy, Spence and I guess sharkman.
