I must admit that the Morgan dollar GSA coins are one of my blind spots when I collect these coins, since they came about before my time and I never really paid much attention to them. On Q18, I was asking if the coin itself was dated/issued on those years and since the answer was No, I automatically excluded those coins. To me, the GSA issuance is a null point since I was only focused on the coin proper. One would assume that the GSA dollars are actual restriked Morgan's that bear the old dates for collectors, but I know that is not the case. Also growing up I assumed that the only GSA dollars in existence were the ones issued 1880-1885 all from Carson City...

Was this Morgan issued in the range 1878-1884? And what about this? Quote: Was this Morgan minted by a S or CC? Sam the butcher or Christopher Columbus? This will cost you in future

Well, I assumed we both knew that for the case of the Morgan dollars, the words issued and dated were interchangeable. So if the dollar was minted at Carson City in the year 1883, it would both be dated and issued the same year, irregardless if the coin is GSA or not. Was this Morgan dollar dated in the range 1878-1884?
