Not Samoa, American Samoa. It's a different island.

The currency in American Samoa is the US dollar. As the official legal tender in American Samoa, the US dollar is officially recognized by the US government, meaning you can use it to settle all financial obligations in the territory, including paying for goods, services, taxes, and debts.

Besides the dollar, no other currency is officially accepted in American Samoa.

I checked the US and the Philippines, I was in the ball park sort of.

This is goofy...now all USA coins were issued south of the equator.....goofy.
