Today's halfcrown of the day presents my worst Halfcrown of my whole collection going back to 1635! This coin is worn down to Good condition - no excuses, just haven't found a better one yet. They will improve from this point on and you will see no coin below gVG until we reach 1836!

Something much nicer is this farthing. Some lustre (and stains) Close to EF and some nice lustre (Or over enthusiastic cleaning). If you can get past the stains and black smudge across the Obverse, this coin has a lot of detail, a full moustache on a pre 1926 Modified effigy is always a good thing and there is lots of face detail on Britannia. You will notice on pre 1926/27 copper - you are missing that higher rim and the face of the coin more than 3mm from the edges is raised and wears quicker, hence the fuzzy shield and dress detail. More worn bronze of this 1905ish - 1926 era will have circular "ghosting" marks. Less worn pieces like this just have heavier wear in these parts and only AU or better have full sharp details in the centre. The years 1923 back to 1919 are very sparse for me as a warning.
