That is one beautiful Barber Half - looks very fresh I only have 2 coins for 1894 and it thins out more for me. 1890 will be my first year with nothing to show.  My other Boer Halfcrown is almost VF and dated 1894 - another beautiful piece. Apparently many of these coins were defaced by British soldiers in the Boer war. |

United States 1894, half dollar. It cannot compete with the beautiful example shown by paralyse, but it is one of the few American coins in my collection.  Some claim Barber was inspired by the French Ceres coins, which had been around since the mid 1800s. NumisRob - Love your coins again - the Crowns are incredible and your Half crowns are filling my gaps which is even better. Erafjel - that Barber is beautiful too, I would give my left teeth for a Barber Half in fine or better now (Your coin is high EF's/AU) - as you all know all the Barber coins I have are a scrappy quarter, dime and a decent 1912 dime (F - VFish). This worn and bored Austrian corona is typical of the 1890s coinage I am showing - sadly. Honest but my 19th century coin collection needs work.  Just 2 coins a year from me now. Edited by Princetane
