This is a more common strapped variety coin - you will see the "Strapless bust" as we go back further. We have nearly done our dash with her Majesty and soon will be heading back into George VI - my golden era of coins.

1956 United Kingdom Farthing - this was the last year of issue of this historic coin, which had ben minted since the reign of King Edward I. Farthings were demonetised from January 1, 1961.

With a mintage figure of 1.9 million, 1956 is a semi-key date, but large numbers were hoarded in EF / UNC condition at the time, so they are not expensive.
