I don't have a listing for this in my book. But I was using the Op's information. Wexler lists an issue with many dies for that same year

There were a lot of these that were consider as DDO, but when they got to 72 dies, they realized it was an issue with:

1971-S $1 Pr WDDO-001
Description: Strong Class II tripling spread towards the center shows on IGWT, LIBERTY, and the date.
Die Markers: Obverse: Peg Leg R. A small die gouge can be found to the left of the R in LIBERTY. Reverse: Two small die gouges can be found on the top left of the E in AMERICA. A die scratch runs NW from the upper left I in AMERICA. A die gouge can be found to the right of the top of star #13.

Comments: This variety was once listed in the Wexler Doubled Die Files as 1971-S $1 Pr WDDO-072 but was reassigned when a large number of the original listings were found to be the product of doubled working hubs.
