I suggested in my earlier reply that this thread has rekindled an interest in the Panama Pacific So Called Dollars, a series I have not pursued for several years.

I took stock of what I have collected, and what is still missing and am likely to continue the pursuit again.

My HK-399 Official Medal (silver) was purchased raw and likely grades mid-AU

In January 2017 I purchased from Tipisco Coin a HK-410B Kentucky Fund which was in an NGC AU55 holder.

And to demonstrate to my friend commems that my interest in well worn pieces translates to series other than commemoratives, how about a well worn pocket piece HK-409 Montant Fund.

I'd just like to see one at auction or for sale. Have yet to experience that. If I did stumble across one, it is outside my budget. You know if I find one, you'll be the first to know.

Here's my silver version (HK-399). It's a raw piece I picked up a number of years ago, but haven't yet sent it in to NGC for grading.

Nicely struck piece! I think you picked a great example.

Are most of you classic commems NGC graded?

All of my so-called dollars that are graded are in NGC holders.

All of my US commemorative coins are in PCGS holders (with one exception, my proof-like Roanoke half dollar is in a NGC holder - PCGS did not use the "PL" designation at the time the coin was graded.)

@nickelsearcher: Nice silver Pan-Pac medal! Thanks for sharing!

I would expect nothing less re: the heavily circulated HK-409 piece!

Bump111 and I have discussed HK-410 for a few years. It is the North Carolina Exposition Dollar from the Panama-Pacific International Exposition. It does not appear on the market all that often! Maybe someday!
