I've only been to CA twice, but did go to Muir Woods. An incredible awe-inspiring experience for this Louisiana boy.

I'm a southern boy (CA) but years ago I spent a week camped along the American River not far from the spot gold was discovered. That is beautiful country up there.

There are numerous ancient coins with birds, Greek and Roman. Here are two of mine: Greek, Athens silver tetradrachm, 23mm, 17.21grams, Athena/owl, 4th-5th century BC, has a full helmet crest which are scarce. Purchased from Numismatic Naumann 2018. I had posted this one in the ancients forum a while back I think. Greek, Silver shekel of Tyre, 26mm, Melkart/owl 14.29grams, 5-6 AD time of Christ, type of coin used to pay taxes at the Jews' temple in Jerusalem. Purchased from David Hendin 2010.
