Nice Krugie. I remember my first big game hunt in South Africa in about 2001 when gold was around $258 oz we had plenty of time after the hunt to tour the country some so we hung out in Pretoria for a few days. One of our hunting guides asked us if we wanted to visit the mint nearby where they struck the coins and maybe buy some.

It just so happened I had a pile of cash on me and could have stocked up on gold Krugies, which I wanted to do tho I think there was a limit on how many you could buy "I forget the limit" but it was like 10 or 15 gold coins at the time.

15 of those 1 oz gold krugies would be worth at least $48,600 today . I got voted down by the rest of the guys and we went to a zoo instead. After 12 days in the South African bush and they wanted to go to a zoo

It was another of lifes great "coulda, shoulda's".
