The "Prop Ship" on this next coin is definitely a background element, but its presence is undeniable! Here's the Half Dollar from the US World War II 50th Anniversary commemorative coin program - a warship is seen in the background (as are landing craft) behind the crawling soldier on the reverse.

One more World War II themed coin - a 50 Pence from the United Kingdom that features a stylized D-Day scene on its commemorative reverse. Several propeller-driven warships can be seen in the design.
