1977 was actually the first year you could collect a complete set of UK decimal circulating coins from change. As such huge numbers were minted in 1968-70 to ensure there were enough coins available for the changeover on 2.15.71, many coins dated 1971-6 were only issued in Proof Sets. So let's celebrate with a set of 1977 UK coins, starting with the humble halfpenny:
