What Are Your 2025 Numismatic Collecting Goals?

Final update of 2025.

1. Curacao & The Netherlands Antilles
Proceeding slowly. An offer I made for a coin on ebay last week was not accepted (expired).
2. Provincial Coins of Utrecht
Surprisingly, was able to buy a Half Rijksdaalder at the New Hampshire Coin & Currency Expo in October. If I get lucky, I might be able to buy one or more coins for this set at the NYINC in January of next year.
3. Symphony Set of Coins
This set was split into a set of Composer Coins and a set of coins from a few select countries. Adding to this collection proceeds slowly. Mostly the occasional ebay purchase. However, I am planning to attend the NUMISMATA Convention in Munich in March, which should yield many more coins.
4. Birthyear Set Collection
Proceeding slowly.

Year is over (basically). Well..... no changes compared to mid-year. So I'll end the year with 3/5 of my initial goals though I did get 8 new slabbed coins this year. Spent half of what I did last year .. which is good

1. Catch up on processing acquisitions from 2024 (not a lot, for better or for worse, but I seem to be getting more disorganized in retirement).
3Q: Last year's done. Have a small pile now from earlier this year

2. Continue to add early dated/datable coins in the 1400s, 1300s and "decade coins" earlier. Last year's goal was 3 to 5, and I wound up with 11 (5 dated and 6 dateable). I'll go with a goal of 5 this year, 2025 Results: I fell a bit short, with 4: 1243 (Sicily), 1427, 1462 and 1468 Florence

3. Continue to grow collection and knowledge of saints on medieval coins. Last year I added 14 in this theme, and 15 the year before.
2025 Results: Added coins with 5 saints not yet in the collection, and a couple pushing back to earlier dates: St. Hermagoras (Aquileia, Italy), St. Paternian (Papal States-Fano), St. Medard (France), very early (11th c.) St. Maurice (Magdeburg) and St. John (Breslau), and my first Merovingian with Sts. Gervasius and Protasius.

4. Continue work on Numista catalog.
2025 Results: Added a co-referee to help in Low Countries, and added just shy of 500 coins to the catalog, in the process learning a lot about new (to me) areas. Main areas of contrbution were:
- Medieval Italy (250)
- Low Countries (90)
- Crusader States (35)
- Byzantine Empire (29)
