It is just a suggestion which means you do not have to do it literally. You can be generous more than $10 if you like!!
Some people here want to share festive spirits while on a strict budget. $10 is the lowest our Santa would allow. Do not forget the postage is another expense some of us are not pleased with, not to our giftees but to the postal services, courtesy of he who must be not named.
Let's make it fun and enjoyable! Please?

I haven't signed up this year because the UK post office are surcharging all packages to the USA, with an extra charge of 10% and a minimum of £1.50, to take account of [deleted] tariffs. My neighbour, who sells on ebay, says that many packages take 3 months to arrive in the USA. Also, our post office is not accepting packages for Canada. |

Most secret santa's that I have received from are generous with their gifts and go way beyond the minimum $10. I think most Santa's check to see what the recipient collects that they were assigned and send them something in line with what their collection. A few Santa's do stick to the $10 min. but that is not the rule from what I have experienced in the past.
I have always felt it's better to give than receive. So, don't let the $10 minimum dictate your inclusion this Christmas - give it a try and see what happens.
