Here's a rather bad picture of the Christianity in Mann 50p

Uk~-Interesting-Find-From-The-Circulation-In-The-Uk~

I sent some pics off to The Royal Mint Museum, the error 50p a few posts above,
and another error 50p I uploaded a while back with a pattern of convex ' Cuds' around some of the letters.

Hope they actually reply with their theories :D

That is superb ! The Milner Tower 50p is a beauty, well done

I managed to get 4 £2' coins today and amazingly enough 3 were commemoratives ,of those 3- 2 of them were Florence Nightingale £2 which I got from different shops within 1 hour ....the odds of that happening....

I don't quite get how they can call them fakes when they're nothing of the kind.
£2 coin fakes are extremely rare to come across.... I only have 3 and know of one more.

Anyone come across the Underground Train £2 coins lately ?
I've come across more than usual over the past month or two.

Also found a match to my 5p Partial collar yesterday :D

Royal Mint reported via their blog that the remaining stocks of Tube £2 were being released at the moment.

If you ask me, a number of these news caption writers are themselves phoney, one wonders how they stay in their jobs.

I was helping out at a quiz night yesterday evening and spent a little bit of time on the door taking people's money. I saw a 2013 Benjamin Britten 50p in the change tin, so I swapped it with 50p of my own money. It's the first BB 50p I've seen in circulation.

The other day I asked for £10 in £1 coins at my local bank, and noticed immediately that one of the coins was a 20 euro cent! I checked it quickly to make sure it wasn't anything special (I'd happily take a Vatican or Monaco one instead of a £1 coin) but it was a common date French one, so I asked the cashier to change it!

Interesting stuff

After a mindblowing day I passed by a small convenience store near the fire station and among the pound coins in the change was a 2011 Cardiff one pound , I never thought I would find any of the capital city pound coins in circulation, I recently thought the odds of coming across one must be very steep by now ....

I've put aside these over the past 2-3 weeks:

Uk~-Interesting-Find-From-The-Circulation-In-The-Uk~

Two Belfasts, one London, one Cardiff, three Welsh 2013 and one English 2013.

I've never found an Edinburgh £1 in circulation, and so far have only had two Royal Arms type 2013 £1 coins - one with a nasty edge knock and the other only about EF.

That is an amazing haul you have got , in my neck of woods I havent seen any new pound coins since the 2012 dated ones

A tale of two self service checkouts

First stop was Tesco and the self service checkouts were stroppy today ! They refused to take my 20p coins and an in-store colleague helped with some "newer" 20p coins and gave me a extra 20p for the inconvenience , on checking it later it turned out to be a bent 1982 20p

Then WH Smiths - 3 out of 4 self service machines were either not working or or malfunctioning so I had to queue for the only one that did function. The item I bought was exactly £5 so I decided to get their 1p plastic bag and pay £6 then get some change in order to see if something interesting turned up .....and I hit pay dirt !

Just when I was thinking 5p coins were getting predictable ,with mostly 2012, 2013 & 2014 5p coins turning up everywhere, ....this little beauty turned up in the change

I am so glad I saved this one from being recovered and melted,..... the rest as they say is history

Got these two £2 coins in change together from my local supermarket this afternoon - it's only the second London Olympics Centenary coin I've had in 6 years, and I haven't had very many 'definitive' 2013 ones either!
