A nice addition for my collection of Cigar Island revolutionary scrip. Trial print 5 Pesos Mes Del Soldado Rebelde series by MR-26-7. Uncut pair, unique.

This is what the actual coupons looked like. The paper color gives away the denomination. 1 Peso = greenish grey, 2 Pesos = yellow.

Here's a note that caught my eye yesterday at the collectibles arcade.

China of some kind, but a super engraving of the Great Wall.

Hello,

I'm a new member and I do collect world banknotes. I would like to show some new entries to my collection. Nothing special, but this is what a collector like me needs over the year.

Unfortunately I have no scanner and my Nikon camera lacks some quality. I usually try to obtain UNC notes, but due to the collecting budget, I have to choose minor quality in many cases.

Another Pacific Buy In, Early Fiji again and some Tongan Updates.

1 Pa 'anga - Tupou V series (Siaosi - George Tupou) series with whale on back, now means I have the 1 - 20 of this series. This note was discontinued after 2015, when replaced with a coin.

2 and 10 Pa' anga - Tupou VI series - modern notes, however due to Covid you can not buy them from a bureaux and 90% of paper notes from Tonga are worn out fast there, so buying fresh notes off dealers is better.

You may notice few changes from the previous series, except the new king is added and the designs around numbers and words are more elaborate.

The other change is the whale design has been moved to the 2 Pa' anga from the 1 Pa 'anga after it went to a coin. The former design (Rugby) was removed. Colours remain the same and the 10 Pa 'anga has the same reverse design as the Siaosi Tupou V note. I showed these notes a few pages back.

Finally, some Fijian earlies. I will just introduce these notes here and discuss them more on the Fiji thread in the Australia and Pacific section.

1969 One dollar, the first decimal dollar, VF and low serial. This is a nice note and notice the sharp colours.

1942 One penny notes, both fine. The backs had detail too.
Very small at 77mm x 50 (Basically 2 x 3 inches), the penny coin depicted on them is actual size!

The wartime fractional notes included the 1/- and 2/- notes.

These notes were also small (111 x 68mm) and printed on cheap paper. There are 2 types of the 1 shilling, mine is the earlier one on plain white paper with blank back. The 2nd type is like the 2/- note, plain back but with "Colony of Fiji" in type across the whole note.

More details on the Fiji page.

Very nice additions @Princetane. I'd like to get P-59 someday. I haven't seen very many of the WWII Emergency issued penny notes like you posted & that's the first 2 Shilling note I've seen a collector post (other what I've seen in the online catalogues).

Here's a much more common P-71b (Series of 1974) $1.00 from just "FIJI"

@walk2dwater: May I ask, what makes this Fiji P59 so special for you?

Good for you to show the later $1 note walk2dwater as you can clearly see how they lightened the colour between the 2 series.

Yes I was happy to get that 2 shillings too. Until last week every time I saw any Predecimal Fiji notes, they always sold quickly, luckily the dealer had a buy now and when I saw 8 watchers on the auction, I just clicked the Buy now button. It was not cheap ($60), but I knew it may be my only chance. For some reason the Penny and Shilling notes are much easier to find.

I don't have a Pick catalogue so have no idea about the numbers sorry.
