Here's a couple others Cuban notes I picked up from Allen's Coins. The first is from 1956 (P-87a) a 1 Peso which also features Jose Marti (like the other 1 peso I added earlier from 1988), the monument in honour of him & sugar cane production on the back. This is a rather tough note to source which was described as AU but is more EF (IMO). This was 1 of the rare instances I figured the staff at Allen's over graded but the price was more in line with EF so I didn't complain:



And a 1959 (P-93) 100 Pesos which features F Aguilera & is relatively easy to pick up in UNC & was graded perfectly by Allen's:

I just picked up this 50 Peso specimen note. Any info on it's rarity or potential value would be appreciated. It is uncirculated, acc. to seller.

Otto, nice P-103 (1974) specimen note (looks UNC to me).

I don't see many notes from DR offered on ebay so I suspect they're pretty rare or tough to source. In fact, whenever I see them for auction, they're almost always specimens. Regular issue are much scarcer IMO.

During my 2nd visit to the Dominican Republic about 8 years ago we went through a museum in Puerta Plata which had some notes mounted & displayed. I asked somebody who worked there about the notes but he didn't know much- just said that they were very rare (from 1950's to 1970s).

I believe I was mistaken on the P# of your note & it is 1975 P-112s due to the punch holes through the markers (sorry for the misattribution):

I have seen a few DR notes (P-71 to P-78 from the 1940's) which resemble US FRN $1.00 printed by ABNC & they are fairly expensive in circulated grades. The centavos from 61/62 are also offered plus the mid-60 to mid 70's TDLR series (P-99 to P-106) but they're often specimens.

This 5 Pesos (P-118c) from the late 80's is pretty easy:


The later "c" versions tend to be easy while some of the early (a or b) versions on the higher denominations (20 Pesos P-120 to 1000 Pesos P-124) are very tough too & rarely seen.
