Bank of England 10 Shillings Replacement banknote (1966-70) A couple of smudges on the note but otherwise it's really nice.   |

The general consensus is that we hate these new plastic notes Dave. They stick together and are a handful when they are mis-shapen (they cant be unfolded once a hard fold is made) and it seems the majority by far preferred the paper varieties.

I agree with that general consensus DavidUK, these polymers are quite beautiful UNC but not very wallet or cash register friendly.
I read somewhere that around 50 million UK polymer notes have been binned/removed/replaced already.

Our plastic notes were so thin they tore easily, stuck together, and became deformed (heat/solvents) easily- so not very well received at first. I was really turned off of the drab designs too and it took me about 4-5 years (2016) to get back into it (interested in the 2017 "150" Commemorative Tens). |

Got a new Bank of Scotland £20 from the cash dispenser this morning. Nice looking banknote. There is also a limited edition 'Queensferry Crossing' one to look out for too.   |

@walk2dwater, yeah seen both B.O.S & B.O.E new polymer £20 notes going for like £10+ above their face value on ebay. The new £20 I got this morning was used for some grocery shopping unfortunately  Picked up these two notes this week Madagascar 1000 franc (1994) & Guernsey £1 (1990/91)     |

 Here's a single prefix 200 Piso banknote (P209b) featuring Duterte & TetaNGCo's signature for the first time (2016). President Duterte has since replaced his governors of the central bank twice. Such shuffles mean further signature combinations seen on the banknotes/ie opportunities for collectors of inexpensive modern banknotes.   The brown tarsier featured on the back is a very timid, small nocturnal primate which has been threatened to extinction. A few preservation parks have been set up in the Philippines to keep populations going. |
