I believe PCGS actually "owns" the TrueView image, even though I own the actual coin. Of course, I can use the image for my own personal purposes. Maybe basebal21 will see this post and chime in. He knows all about TPG details like this.

OK, now brace yourselves, for I am about to share with you the most bizarre (hideous, if you will) Eisenhower dollar to have entered my collection......

I bought this from Troy Weaver, who has the ALL TIME finest Ike registry set. He said his company, Mint State Modern Coins, found the Ike in a 1000 coin bag and submitted it raw. The coin has nice luster, even underneath the gold and orange toning. He said he couldn't speak as to what happened to it before it made it into the bag. Still, PCGS straight graded it, which surprises me. It may have been pressed up against folds in the bottom corner of the bag or something if it did tone while in storage. This may be plausible, given the random, chaotic toning pattern. Environmental damage? Maybe. But ugly or not, I had to have it. It's one odd duck.

I also purchased this 1972-S proof for my next Dansco set. It has ruby red halo toning along the obverse periphery. It's a deep red, but it really pops in direct light.

By law, copyright belongs to the photographer - in this case that would be PCGS. A copyright holder like PCGS can sell, trade, give, or share copyright, but you'd have to check the terms of service for details. I imagine that by submitting your coin to PCGS you surrendered any claim of copyright and granted to them perpetual, worldwide rights to the image(s) and - conceivably - you might not have the right to use the images at all. This is all said for the sake of argument, and you could have a claim under the fair use dotrine. But imagine if you used those photos in a book or other commercial venture - PCGS could enforce their copyright.

Here's the 1971-D DDR..nice clean strike..Fairly early die state, so, the notching is nice & crisp.

I picked up this 1972 s silver proof from the dealer across the street from me and once I got it home and looked at it I realized that it's is a DDO! Unlisted but still a DDO. James Wiles from Variety Vista told me that it's to minor to list and John Wexler wants me to send it to him which I will when I get around to it
The pics were taken with the coin in a 2x2 so the blemishes are on the plastic. The coin is vurtually flawless with the exception of the spot under the R in trust. You can clearly see the notching.

Yes, nice notching, Toot. Wiles's booklet has virtually identical notching, under Series notching, the same location, for multiple years (1972, 1973, 1974). In the master hub, many issues have this excellent look. I have it also on many 1972 BY Silver strikes.
If you can locate Dr. Wiles booklet, grab a copy, still a must-have reference guide that clearly explains the Eisenhower series varieties.
