I would say it is in the G range. I am not sure if a dent significantly devalues a coin. I generally don't purchase holed or dented coins. I would be interested in what the community thinks.
I received this coin today and noticed that there were some imprints on the obverse that looked like stars. This could be a new clash for this date. I looked at the 1857 dime and the stars match up. What does the community think? The last image the best closeup I could produce with my equipment.
Coin looks AU or at least high XF. Not sure if the dent above the head would reduce the grade. The broken T on the reverse In CENT is a flag to me, but could be a die issue. A nice example.
The reverse is the reverse of the 1859 Indian head. The reverse was only used for the first year of the Indian head series. I don't think this coin has any error coin value.
I see diamonds on the ribbon and the ribbon has definition which qualifies for XF at least. It could go low AU if the Reverse rim nicks are overlooked.
I am always confused when it comes to repunched dates and DDO and DDR. A lot of times it is strike doubling. Since the date has an imprint all around the numbers, I think it is strike doubling. The reverse looks similar. I would like to see what others think.
Yes it is in the AU class. The reverse is a strong strike. I have a 1922 "so called plain" and the last 2 is also weak. I think the die pair for the strong reverse had the weak last 2.
I am guessing XF to AU. Obverse looks pretty clean, while the reverse has some small dings. Not sure how grading companies consider that into the final grade.
