Are some pennies rims that large? Or would that result from the damage?

Cuds: https://cuds-on-coins.com/cuds-on-u-s-coins/

For those other errors, this site will be a good reference, however, you'll need to proceed if your browser allows you to as the site is having an SSL cert issue at the moment. (It's safe to continue because you are not entering in any confidential information that would require https).

Two DDR's are here: https://varietyvista.com/04d%20JN%2...%202023P.htm If you want to hold onto them and see if they get an FS designation or I'm sure you could move them on Ebay.

Another alternative would be to try and search for mint errors. But they are rare so you may not have any luck there.

An alternative is: https://varietyvista.com/02b%20LC%2...02/index.htm I find Brian's site lists too many for me to look through.

If you want the main ones that the TPG's recognize, this is an option: https://www.ngccoin.com/variety-plu...tes/nickels/ when you find one here, then go to the variety sites for more diagnostic details.

Error-ref is giving errors today. I didn't find anything else online about how to tell the difference between rolled thin and struck on the wrong stock.

Their SSL cert is expired. I messaged them about this via the contact form a few days ago.

Thanks. If carbon spotting, will they grow in size or stay the same?

I've been trying to figure out what are these dots on the head of Roosevelt. Also, with the pictures with the arrows, there are some off shapes. Any idea what these are? Thanks

Does anyone have any idea what caused the below on Washington's head? This was present before I pulled it from the 1990 proof set.

Yep, I posted for the same reasoning -makecents- mentioned above. Given the coinfacts showed similar, I wanted to get other opinions.

The OP's photos are of 1968 S, while the links posted are to a 1969 S.

Oh boy, I'm glad you caught that, thanks!

Mods, this title should be 1969-S instead of 1968-S. The pics of the mint mark is correct; however, the full quarter view is incorrect. (Fixed)

Only my Philly coins have it. And not ALL of the Philly's. About 80 percent of them. None of my Denvers have it.

A die would be specific to a particular mint and inside said mint, specific to that particular run of coins from said die.

Thanks for the replies. I looked on Coinfacts because if I send to PCGS, I wanted to see what they have certified as FS-501; however, the top three all looked different from each other.

The die chip would be on the die and it'll transfer to multiple coins it strikes.

Is this quarter FS-501 RPM?

I am comparing to these two CoinFacts images.
