What is the worst that could happen on sending it in to be graded? they would test it somehow right? it would be nice to know what other tests we could do other than is it magnetic, weight, and does the 3 have that tail. so, I think sending it in is the right move. then either way, it it turns out to be a fake then I will have something to compare any others I find lol "Yeah right" to, or if it's real you all will have something to compare others to.
With all the errors out there, let's be honest, there is no real way of knowing unless something is way off. like a weight, is it steel, copper, or bronze, anything else unless it says fake on it. or a different president lol would be speculation.

Thank You all for your help,
I will keep you all informed on what's going on. :)

thanks again everyone :)

The forty thief's thing the bow tie is different but comparing this coin of mine to the bronze there are two differences I see. Now, whether or not these matter or are these two differences due to wear, I don't know, the bow tie, and the back of the head the shape is a bit off. thank you for something to compare it to. I mean I'm still in the air on if this could be real, how could this have ended up in change?

The bowtie was my first go to. "it does stand out" but I did find a few older pennies with the same features so had to rule it out, the head hair area has a different feature than the 1944 but again if you look through the years his head changes. so I started with my collection from 1939 up to 1944 and other than the steel pennies nothing real to match it to. Hence my problem, and I think a lot of others have this problem. with other coins there is usually a coin available to compare it to. but the 1943 copper, not so much, we have the coated steel, aka the bronze, right? but it may be different due to the fact that one of the mints were constantly fixing their plates, hence the reason the D is not on this coin and it is a no mark. Sorry a bit of history there, did a lot of research on this type of coin.

I found this after cashing a check. I seen a wheat back and was floored when I seen the date. Hence needing to know prior to grading, are there and specific was on testing or knowing if or if not, this is real? There has to be a tall tell sign of sorts am I right?

thank you all for the reply, I really do wish there was a way to do a carbon dating test on this, before hand.

Here's the deal, went through 3 coin dealers here in NY and they can appraise and help with sending into grade coins. This one has them all stumped. the coin weighs 3.1 grams, it was tested with a 300lb earth magnet, and is NOT magnetic. it measures and weighs like it should.
The date has not been altered in anyway shape or form.

Now on to the photos, this is what stumps everyone. the bluish photos, are taken with a microscope. the copper looking photos are taken with a 30x loop and a flash camera.

your thoughts please should this coin be sent in to be graded? that's where I am at now.

Many Thanks in advance,
Dan
