The set is a strange mish-mash.
Why does the Loonie have a [P] mark? And will the circulation version have that? The 50c has a non-hyphenated date, and a normal mint mark (so what if the obverse was the same logo?) $2, 25c, 10c, 5c have the Canada 150 logo mark.
Obverse has traditional fonts and beads on Loonie and 50c Obverse has new font and no beads on 5c, 10c, and 25c
Is this what we can expect for the circulation set: An inconsistent mess?

Quote:
Correct, and 70 M oz is a small fraction of the total production in 2015 (887 M oz).
8% is actually a staggering percentage for one specific industry.
Quote:
I'm not sure who sold 30 million ounces per year but RCM sold 10.6 ounces just last quarter alone and they definitely don't hold the world monopoly on silver sales.
So, you get my point. Bullion coin production, which is widely held, is possibly a larger consumer of physical than solar panels.
Coins are far easier to shake loose than solar panels. But, a lot harder to collect in massive quantity than silver in the form of large bars sitting in a vault.
Quote:
The world silver reserve is estimated at about 600 thousand tons (almost 20,000,000,000 oz). That amount of silver could fuel the solar industry for the next 3 centuries.
Reserves are usually a term referring to known or likely supply available from existing mines. So, that would have to mined economically to become a factor.
The question is, how much physical silver is available above ground in a form that is quickly and economically available to industry?

There are several reasons for the silver rumour.
1) The tradition (over millennia) that gold is worth 50x silver. Yet, has been 70x - 100x in recent decades.
2) Silver is an industrial metal. It has MANY uses. Speaker wire, silver oxide batteries, solar panels and MSRA-killing bandaids being examples. It isn't hanging around in massive vaults, like most of the gold ever mined. And while hopefully most is recyclable, some is actually lost.
3) Much silver is a byproduct of other metal production. If those mines are shuttered, or not brought online, then silver production is hurt.
4) It is still perceived that the end of chemical photography killed silver's market.
If something causes new demand for large amounts of physical silver, there could suddenly be physical shortages. And, of course, spot would spike.

> I blew up the photo of that area, and I don't really see obvious any evidence of Photoshopping (unless he is really good).
Isn't "Photoshop" a catch-all term to mean: Manipulated the original photo or scan?
Even adjusting the brightness and contrast qualifies. And, I expect it happens all the time. Why would someone post bad scans if a little tweaking can be more representative of the coin in-hand?
There are times when very high quality scans emphasize the flaws that are difficult to see in-hand. Full disclosure would list the flaws, and perhaps provide both scans.
It seems both parties show a history of trustworthiness. It is a darn shame this has escalated so quickly.
