I could be wrong, and often am... I only own a handful of oriental coins so far from an expert, but at first glance everything looks off on this one. the fonts & devices aren't sharp. the top dragon alone looks more like woody the woodpecker than a dragon. everything just looks cartoonish (beyond circulation wear) and the colour is typical of offshore imports (fakes).

Depends what they are charging for shipping. Canada to US is brutally expensive. Most sellers charge an extra $5 on every non-tracked shipment as "insurance" for when people claim no receipt of goods. It probably makes them more $ in the end than shipping everything tracked and relying on eBay to solve any disputes.

I've torn down over 2000 houses, and yeah, some weird energy in some of them. Sounds strange but it seemed more to do with organics (wood especially). My ghost-buster experience tells me that coins (metals) are immune. |

cleaning won't increase the value. can't hurt the value though either (it's not worth much in good shape).
even if it was the key date 1887 a collector would want an example without the environmental damage (especially this much crud)
clean it if you want to, but you'd only be doing for yourself. |

Types Of Ancients I See At Non-Ancient Dealer Shops In Rome

I'm not into ancients at all, but I'd be wary of anything that comes out of a shop that caters to tourists in high volume.
A lot like visiting "coin shops" in Chinese marketplaces where everyone is selling multiple "really rare" & "unique" cash coins (fantasy issues).
The last example you show is so well centred and well struck (and well preserved)... looks too good to be true.
But again, this ain't my thing. |

I went to a few banks (different branches of the bank I had accounts at) and asked to leave my name if anyone brought in Voyager dollars or 50 cent pieces. I got a call several times (no one at the bank wants to, or in most cases even knows how to, deal with these things). I received 2 calls in the next month, dropped off $25 Tim's gift card when I picked up. No calls a month after that, but I'm sure if I went back in and asked again my name would've been back to a sticky note on the wall. If you make an effort you will be rewarded (unless you are way out urban), the banks and their employees would be happy swap without having to handle the material or do the paperwork. Make connections with the individuals, and DO NOT dump your leftovers back at ANY of the branches you pickup from - or you'll just be that guy wasting everyone's time. and you also won't get your old rolls back, regardless it's best to mark your returning rolls somehow so you know if you've already searched it before. If you do get a call, and realize they are giving you back your old rolls - take them anyways and use your dump bank (only if you want them to keep calling you). Could also put out an add on marketplace or craigslist - lots of people with jars of the things hanging around.
Good Luck, and share your finds with us here!
Again, it's going to take some effort, you're not going to walk into any random bank and order a box (the good old days are gone). |

Iranian coins often use the lion w. sun rays design and also have wreaths on both sides. I honestly cant see anything of a host design? I think it was simply struck way off centre.
see example below, these were typically very crude
