Dansco needs to address this issue. They only give lip service.

I have the same problem with my Mercury Dime and my Kennedy Half dollars album. I thin Dansco should replace these...

I have a subscription and the schedule for 2011 shows $31.95 for uncirculated and e-mail from U.S. Mint shows $31.95 for proof. I want to verify before I cancel my uncirculated sets. Thanks.

The U.S. Mint has set the 2011 Proof Sets at $31.95 each. and according to their product schedule the same price of $31.95 for Uncirculated Sets to be released on February 8, 2011. Is this correct? Thanks.

I ordered a proof as well. The least I could do for fellow veterans, especially those that have made the "ultimate" sacrifice.

Read an interesting article with a movement to replace President U.S. Grant with President Ronald Reagan on the $50 bill. That ought to add a new firestorm, heh?

Where does one purchase just rolled coins and where are they issued? I am speaking about all U.S. coins. The U.S. Mint has available only things like Kennedy half,s etc. Do I write each mint separately? Or are there dealers.....

Other than specialty issued coins, such as the 2009 Lincoln Cents (in 4 separate releases) when does the U.S. Mint produce the yearly coins and is the only place to purchase them is from the banks (providing they have new coins)?

I called the U.S. Mint this morning. They told me the Lincoln cent was not available and did not know when it would be available for purchase. I read to the sales person the press release from February 12 that they were released. No additional comment from the sales representative.
So much for "Change" in government. Bunch of misinformation and incompetence.

I received my Fifth Edition, Volume 1 Half Cents to Jefferson Nickels from Amazon yesterday. I had pre-ordered this @$26.37 some time ago. A great value. I am impressed with the hardcover with spiral bound feature.

Now I need to get Volume 2, but I guess it is only in Fourth Edition.

A great book at a great value....will be able to burn some winter hours using this.

I am miffed why posters wanting to sell or trade their coins on this
forum do not respond to bidders questions that are legitimate and worse
yet to a bidder that has made an offer. A simple thanks but no thanks
should be made out of a matter of common courtesy, IMHO.

I believe the market for coins has peaked because of the run-away pricing. This will continue through the next year. I suggest all of us be prepared for the separation of the collector from the speculator.

I would wholeheartedly agree with what hunter 20ga stated,i.e.
buy the coin, not the slabber.

That dealer surely in my opinion has some self doubt about himself.
I would forget it, chalk it up to experience and move on to another
dealer.

Nicely formatted and presented. I envy your originality in the
presentation. Thanks for sharing your collection with this
forum. I am guilty of only using "tunnel vision, i.e. U.S. coins"
when collecting.

You have kindled my interest.

Thanks again.

I asked my son who lives in a small town in Wisconsin to stop
in at his local bank and purchase a few rolls of pennies and
see if they have some halves. Hope to see what he comes up
with when he comes to Chicago for Easter. I will let you all
know what the results are.
