I placed a first time order for some bullion with APMEX - standard shipping (first class, insured) It looks like it left their warehouse and the Oklahoma City USPS facility on 4/14 with an expected delivery date of 4/17 (yesterday). Yesterday's mail came and no buillion. Today's mail came and nothing. Tracking shows "In transit to destination" since 4/16.
Is this normal? How long should I wait until I contact APMEX?

If memory serves me, A few years ago when I first started stacking the Gold to Silver ratio was right around 55. Today it is at 77.
So is this a natural upward progression over time - much like the prices of goods tend to rise over time? After all, at one time in the distant past, the normal ratio was 20.
Or is an inflated ratio due to return to some "normal" in the future? |

While passing by a Coinstar, I noticed 2 penny in the return slot. One was a zincoln, the other was this 1925 wheatie - a date I needed for my circulated penny collection to boot.

Thank you everyone for your comments. I'll have to change the description of the 1856 coin. Looks like I got exactly what I paid for - not too shabby. I did not notice the solder on the coins until I got home. I swear this LCS must have some kind of special "hide the defects lighting." :) |

Thanks everyone for your comments. I guess I am a junk binaholic. I saw the Morgan and thought, I'll take a chance and see what acetone will do. I let the Morgan soak until this morning. It gave up alittle more, but not much.
When I spotted the seated quarter arrows. I held it up and said to the dealer, "This just made my day." He had thought I had cherry picked something valuable. "Oh that belongs in there" was his response. My thrill comes from finding the unexpected, not necessarily valuable. I guess this is why I also enjoy CRH so much.

I'm with the "banks do not owe you anything" crowd. However, banks are not the only source of rolled coins. If you were looking for just a roll of quarters, you might want to try the grocery store where you shop.
At my kid's school milk is $0.35. Once a month when shopping, my wife asks the cashier for a roll of quarters and dimes. Rarely is she turned down. |
