I have already talked to 1PPCLI about this situation and apologized on the fact that the pictures were not clear on my mobile device and did contact him regarding this situation.
I do admit that I made an error not realizing that there is a large difference between a pointed 5 on a 1965 and a pointed 5 on a 1985.
I never called is coin a 'fake' more or less believed it was a blunt 5 by mistake.
But don't let this member deceive you. I will refrain from copying and pasting the replies he gave me seeing that this is a family sight but eBay is pretty heated up about the language and very abusive responses he replied with.
It all started with me messaging him saying it wasn't a pointed (in my honest mistake I already messaged him and replied to him about these circumstances) but his reaction completely blew this out of proportion.
This is your eBay case 1PPCLI

"Hello Jacob,
Thank you for contacting us about reporting a particular seller for abusing eBay system.
We will fully investigate this and take the appropriate action once we find a sufficient evidence and as much as we would like to send a result of the investigation as for eBay policy everything will be private.
I would return the coin Petersun. When buying NCLT you want pristine coins. All coins are the same. If you had your coin on eBay with the exact same price as another sellers, they would buy the other one because of the tarnish. But the dent is a giveaway. Return ASAP.
I had a baseball tournament in Kitchener Ontario yesterday and had an hour and a half between games so I decided to visit the store.
Prior to going I called and asked what they would be willing to pay me for my MS-64 PCGS X ICCS 1943 50 cent (Far 3 variety)
their response ($30-$35 depending on the condition) - book for this coin is $250.00
Anyways while I was there I had asked if they had a Pointed 5 1985 in MS Red - the one associate kept pointing to a BU 1985 penny saying "that's it" it's priced at .50 cents and it's clearly a blunt. Truth is, he didn't even know there was a difference.
So I spent a good 20 minutes searching through a "junk bin" for a couple BU pre 1953 pennies and while I was doing that an older lady came in looking for silver prices.
2013 Canadian Maples - $35.00 2013 American Eagles - $40.00 2013 Britannias - $60.00 2013 Chinese Pandas - $65.00
The two young men running it clearly had NO idea what was going on and were clearing hiking up the price for her because $35.00 for a Maple is pathetic, I got them on eBay FROM colonial acres for $35.00 when silver was at $32.00 at a BIN
But this is the part that get's me the MOST
while searching in the junk bin I found a gorgeous 1947 ML penny in BU (MS-65) in my opinion. Priced at $12.00. The box was marked 50% off sticker prices. I also turned around and grabbed 2 x 100 5 cent coin flips off the wall advertised at 20% off (they're moving stores so they're trying to clear out supplies inventory).
I realized I forgot my wallet in the car so I ran out. When I had walked in, they changed the sticker price on my penny to $24.00 so I am still paying the $12 they wanted. I even mentioned it to the and he said "no that was the price all along" So I rubbed my finger and of course the ink smeared because it was still wet. But whatever I decided not to get it, so I go to pay for my coin flips... AND THEY REMOVED THE 20% off sign.
i thought maybe the promotion ended but while I was in there an elderly man needed capsules and the two guys working were struggling to figure out what the price was with the discount. It also stated on the sign that "20% off closing sale - All supplies 20% off until we move)
I know it was a Saturday so none of the owners were in but these two guys had NO clue how to run a coin store (doesn't help that one was swearing to the other one talking about soccer as he was texting while I walked in)
I know I will never go back... I will only buy from eBay and pick up in store to save on shipping because this way I know Todd had approved all auctions
Admin Note: We are now in possession of the surveillance video.
We watched the entire video after reading the original post several times. There is no evidence of any wrongdoing. In fact the video goes for another 10 minutes after the OP goes out "to get his wallet" and he never returns to the store.
It doesn't matter how rare this coin is, I mean some were minted so SOME has to have one. I don't understand how some members can just come straight out and say this is fake without the facts.
his description of how it happened makes me laugh, pretty much - he is explaining how HE did it in his garage but changes a couple words to make it sound like the mint did this.
