Thank you for your reaction. I think I don't have that book. Which one do you use?
The Krause is not very accurate I guess. Sizes differ to the 2-5 mun according to krause.

Thank you all for your support and comments!

I was not able to find it in VanHoud literature which has Liege aswell in it unfotunately and not in vanderchijs plates doing a quick search. I remember looking in hmz aswell but no match. The suggestion about italy or an imitation I did like but indeed you would think rather a mite or double mite first. Then we go to flandres or liege. They have many imitations after coins from the 15th century.
An interesting thing is you can also see a diamond shape between the lis and crown aswell.

Are there specific other books regarding imitations?

When we look at a Charles V le sage franc a pied gold coin. You have a cross with right a crown and left a fleur de lis. Perhaps an imitation after his coinage?

I don't know any jetons that have these characteristics.

Hi Paralyse, it might be. It can also read TVRONVS on the cross side which indicate tours.
In the centre a crown with fleur de lis is a style I have not seen before yet.

Hi All,

In my collection I have this medieval bronze coin for quite a while. Till now I am not able to find it. Having searched in Feodales by Poey D'avant but also several dutch and flandres literature.

The obvious thing is the crown in the centre next to the fleur de lis which is not in best shape anymore. I have not found a coin that has the crown and fleur de lis in centre. Only a leopard and lis from aquitaine.

Hi Fellow Members,

I am a enthousiastic metal detecting amateur and planning to fly to new zealand within the next month. Thinking about metal detecting I remembered there are posibilities to go for gold nugget searching in australia. This is way different then here in europe and I don't have a detector with me.

I was wondering if anyone has or might have tips related to this topic. If I can get in contact with people doing that and perhaps can join/rent/try for a day or two when I plan to visit Australia.

One of my last nice finds is a silvered large flat button. With inscribed church related figures and details. I think it might be 17th-18th century.

Nice find! It is exactly the same indeed.
Brazil was a colony of Portugal. Perhaps the coin mentioned in mashop was in this area at some time. Which is not that far from Chile ;) . with some imagination.

An fascinating piece with Boston stamped on a Mexican colony 2 real from 1745.

Could this be related to a early colonial times from the United States? The name might give a clue.

Anyone here more specialized in this kind of history :)?

Hi All!

Here I have a interesting Chile 2 Real piece. Which has been countermarked with NID or DIN. I was not able to find it in Gregory Brunck his book. Is there anyone here that happens to know this countermark. It seems not a bankermark or a maverick piece to me.

Hi All,

I have a few coins with countermarks on it and was wondering if there is any good reference work regarding countermarks on coins? Sometimes I see Stack and Bowers, heritage and others having coins with countermarks. But especially the non common ones I am curious about.

Here a small rays? countermark on a early 6 pence. In the portret. It seems different then bankermarks.

Thank you! How did you find this using RPC. By using the wording of the letters known in various forms?
If I may ask?

I like the one with the dutch coin, thanks for sharing.

Thank you all for these comments. So likely a souvenir of some kind.

It is interesting to see that it happens more often. I knew the masonic stamp on the one pennies. However on dutch coins I have not seend them before.
