Banknote Serial Checker Tool

Hi guys, I've previously put together a tool to help beginner collectors of Australian banknotes, I've noticed about 20% of visits have been from the US however so I figured I'd try to add a checker for US notes aswell.
https://banknoteserialchecker.com/u...ote-checker/
I've still got alot to learn with US collecting and hoping to update to the same level of info as the Australian notes.
The checker is currently based off info I could source with help from this forum alongside ebay sale records and official government resources, but there is alot of info I couldn't quite find including serial# print ranges, and missing suffix / prefix letters into circulation.
The rating is currently based off the type of serial nunber, block and series date, and hoping to update the note ratings accuracy with more feedback
I know this tool won't be so useful for the seasoned collector but the intention is to help the beginner collector get an idea lf their note before possibly spending something that could be quite valuable.
(Apologies for any inaccuracies, fixes will be put in place where possible)
All the best everyone! - regards Matt |

I see heaps of 'grainy' coins like these, usually in the 20c and 50c sizes.
they are usually as a result of being heavily damages and then cleaned so they can be deposited.
For example, a customer of mine works rinses his damaged coins from a wrecking yard vending machine in acid before running them through a coin counter at the bank, its not uncommon for him to have 3-400 worth of coins like this in 1 deposit. then they go and get distributed like normal.
im not 100% that your coin is like this, but when I find a similar I throw it back as in my experience I see too many to consider looking closer |

Ive posted to the US a couple of times, only if the buyer came accross trustworthy and the value of the coin wasnt too rare $2.75 is the cheapest option as standard airmail, but our next option jumps dramatically to $24, then by the time we get tracking / insurance hitting $35 is not uncommon. I try to avoid international postage mostly, but thats due to a fear of loosing my coin / sale in transit
hope this helps |

I think its the renewed interest in coin collecting, the Purple caught the general public off guard and kind of disappeared into circulation and people are trying to get them back before they get too damaged (the non mint marked ones in any case)
as far as the other colours go, green I still find fairly common in change, not so much for reds and never seen a red poppy in change, I thought they were only mint roll available.
with the exception of needing uncirculated ones for a collection I personally find it a good thing as it is growing the collector base, even if just starting with questioning a coloured $2, it may have people look into that value of other coins. Thats my insights in any case |

Haha yeah id be happily snapping up $100 notes for $26.
To find the results ive selected the "completed listings" 》"sold items only" checkbox while searching for '$100 2008 first prefix' it gives an ok idea on what has actually sold, as some on auction are asking $1200etc.
id be happy to sell them for $120ea but due to the fees and charges I have to start the ebay sale at roughly $145ea just to cover those costs. Oh well.. as advisex ive got them up, if no luck will return what I don't keep myself. Thanks for the replys |

Hi Everyone,
I'm looking at selling my 50cent collection of 20x incuse millenium coins and 20x rotated 2010 50c coins. This collection has been 2.5years of noodling efforts, hoping to raise $3000 so my wife can join her family for her brothers overseas wedding.
Any idea what the best method would be to sell as a bulk lot? Although reluctant to sell I think its my best bet at raising the funds fast enough, and I can keep noodling a new collection while shes away haha
trying to steer clear from ebay as they take such a huge portion of the sale price.
regards, Matt |
