It is hard to tell from your picture to see if it is genuine or not, because coppers are easily to be counterfeited, and there are many of such fakes in China. If it is genuine, the price would be good, at around $1000. It was minted in 1662, diameter is 48mm.
Hope this information is useful to you.

Hope you didn't buy them at high price. They are all extremely low quality fakes. I just show the picture of one of the genuine from my collection for you to compare with. If you are not familiar with Chinese antique coins, don't buy it, there are thousands of fakes, many of which are very difficult to differentiate, even for Chinese coin experts.

Thank you all for the comments. I rechecked the coin, the letter "R" in REX, seems has redundance, is it normal? Or it is a bad fake?

Thank you very much for your reply, it has no action to magnet, and when I flip it, it sounds like silver. Hope it is not fake, because it is not cheap.

It is the first time for me to collect a 8 Reales coin, so I have no experience to identify them. Could any one help me to identify if it is genuine of counterfeit, or give any comments?

The condition is: 39mm in diameter, though it is not strict round. And it is 26.81830g in weight. The strange thing is, the coin surface is not flat but scraggly, concave in the crown side, protrude in 1798 side, is it normal?

Thank you very much for any comments.

Frank
