I think you have this correctly identified.

Lousy photography notwithstanding, to my eye this example looks rather like a casting.

Here's an entire gallery of the type for comparison: http://numismatics.org/crro/id/rrc-468.1

I've been doing a bit more research on this issue. My impression is that it's fairly common, and I've seen many online in a better state of preservation than mine.

The "ROMA" monogram on the obverse seems to me not unlike modern corporate logos. Also, what looks like a star at the bottom of the reverse apparently would've been recognized as a stylized "XVI" denoting the 16 asses that a denarius was then worth.

Hard to tell much with photos that aren't well cropped. Looks to be perhaps a casting and maybe also a little too perfectly round to be genuine. I'd want to know how it was acquired before I gave it any credence.

I'd take it to be Greek rather than Roman. There's quite a large number of issues to search through with Athena on the obverse and a bull on the reverse.

with the above comments. The coins appear to be genuine and in decent condition, but you'd be much better off being able to select an individual example that appeals to you.

To get the speculation started. Might be AVREL upper left obverse. Aurelian?

Could be. The portrait seems about right. To answer the original question, it's definitely a Roman bronze antoninianus. To my eye, the reverse looks to be a VIRTVS MILITVM type.

So cool to have this turn up "in circulation"....

It doesn't present terribly, but your first photo of the edge looks to be the spot where a sprue might've been cut away. The little raised dot there would also be a bit of an anomaly for a struck coin. The test to run on it would be an analysis via xray fluorescence (XRF), with many jewelry or gold and silver buying establishments nowadays having the devices to accomplish this. The lack of any trace gold in its composition would be an indicator of more modern refining.

Yet another silver dollar sized Apollo 11 medal. The variety of this genre is such that it would seem to pose quite a challenge if someone were to attempt to collect them all.

I've found a listing for this on a website that shows it cataloged as Crawford 341/2. The personage on the obverse is identified as Bacchus/Liber. It appears to me that this may be a relatively scarce issue.

This was kicking around in a general coin shop, completely unattributed. About 19 by 17.5 mm, with the weight coming in at 3.85 grams, I'm confident that it's a denarius of Lucius Marcius Phillppus from around 113 BC.

Philippus later became quite prominent in the politics of the Roman Republic.

See: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Luciu...onsul_91_BC)

There's an especially high grade example of this coin pictured there as well.

This turned up in a general coin shop, completely unattributed. About 17.5 by 15.5 mm, with the weight coming in at 3.58 grams. The depiction of Pegasus led me to first believe it was Greek, but the research I've done suggests it's a denarius of Q. Titius (circa 90 BC). Am I correct in my identification?

This randomly came across the counter to me today at my local bank branch. Its condition is such that I suppose any premium over face value would be minimal, but still neat to find such in circulation.

I think the key will be identifying the personage caricatured, possibly an entertainer or artist reasonably well known at the time. My first thought was Jimmy Durante, but he's usually portrayed wearing a hat because his hair was thinning.

Here are two more items made by the Silver King Novelty Co., both countertop arcade style "shooter" games that dispensed gumballs.
