I think you could be right about it being scottish. I cleaned it just a little and it looks like it has a scottish lion on the other side. |

thanks for the info! I didn't have any ancient coins so this is pretty amazing having these coins more than 1000 years older than anything else I've got! What are they made from? Also wondering what does 'AE2' stand for or mean? Is the symbol 'B' between the two figures on #4 a roman mintmark? I am suprised the half threepence is a coin, thought it might have been a token given how small it is. |

What is this coin? 1982 was the first year of Queen Beatrix's coins so I thought it might have something to do with that but I can't see it listed. It is the same size as the 5 gulden which came out in 1987. Is it even a coin at all or some sort of token?
