The 40 and 50 grade notes are the best deal going if no marks. You also get nearly the appreciation of the 50 notes down to 40.

I'd love to write it all up, but the Excel spreadsheet does a fine job.

According to a collector at realbanknotes.com, you'll have no trouble in Scotland.

Good luck. Let us know how you did. Be sure and take storage material with you.

Nothing oily about it. You're looking at an effect of humidity, just open your storage and albums now and then. It's called Newton's Effect, and is harmless.

Either lens should be fine, the Nikon is my preference for clarity, but the Tamron zoom should work, too.

Unless you have a tripod, you'll need one, and a place to shoot your coins.

The camera is a good one, you don't need another. Get some photo software to load, unload, and crop.

Use side angle lighting, and correct temperature for lights. And a paper diffuser you make at home. You can get an LED/LCD bulb at a hardware store.

You can't go wrong in secrecy, be very careful who you share with, including family using any addictive substance. Let them find your cash pot or estate when they inherit.

Sounds as if it was never shipped. Regardless, the vendor bears all responsibility for packing, mailing, and signature delivery. Press for an immediate refund in full. Begin with eBay. Don't return packaging just yet, then comes Paypal and USPS. Check your claim timing for all to be sure you don't miss a window.

102 Positive feedbacks means there only one person is involved, the vendor.

Of course it's rare, only one note has that number. Condition is what matters, not the number. Your number is in the millions, not under 1,000, and thusly not a premium note. Take it to a coin shop and sell it for what you can get, and call it good. You'll not earn more than a pound for it.

Buy nice coins for your collection as singles, and according to value.
Buy junk bullion like this for silver melt, and not any more.

It's a lovely example and someone wants it enough to pay for it.

$1400 is not rarity level in ancient coins.

Immediately place that note into a polyethelene holder for archival storage. Don't take it with you to the store you buy the holder from, leave it alone until you take care of it.

The serial number of your note is A.6 23481. The number to the top of the note is a control number, not a serial number. There is no premium for your number. It's a nice condition.

You want floods for just about all of it, that is the wider beam. Narrow beams cast shadows and require diffusion.

Austrian Notgeld Question

I decided recently on German notgeld as a collecting interest, very pleased with that choice. The Danish material is a corollary, as we seem to have come from the area where some wars were fought between Germany and Denmark over sovereign status, and plebescites following the Great War.

Just walked right buy the Austrian, it wasn't interesting, to me. If you don't like it, don't collect it.

For the record, most Austrian notgeld is not really very attractive and is worth less than any other country, especially Germany. Exceptions exist, but the general rule is there.

Nice collection and a good start ! Than 10 Rupee note with King George V is a bit valuable, keep it in the holder. And do get polyethylene holders for the others, it protects them from further damage when handled.

5x8 holders are the best size.
