This is a zincoln with copper plating. It is common for plating bubbles like this to occur under the copper where it meets the zinc core. A lot of the times you can push those down with a toothpick.

Somehow I missed that thread. I will look back. I noticed them on Ebay for a long time now. I've tried looking them up before and came to the same conclusion.
What caught me off guard was seeing a normal auction company sell one off with the same title as these people selling them on eBay.
Usually they are better at vetting these things.
Thanks Hondo

What is the deal with these 1979 Susan B Anthony dollars "Rare FG" coins selling for $250-$500. Am I missing something? I've tried looking up this type of error with no luck. Please enlighten me. I just saw one go for $500.00 at a regular non ebay auction.

Yes, use all 3 sites. I use coppercoins the most due to the quality of pictures and pictures of the die markers. Wexler's if not listed on Coppercoins. Pictures of coins are great as well here. Mostly only has the description of the die markers though, some rare pics of markers.
VarietyVista is my last go to. Picture quality isn't great, and almost never has die markers to confirm, but has the most all around US coin varieties as far as. .01 ,.05, .25, .50, 1.00 coins in one location.

I wouldn't mind taking a look at the ms65 coin. Quite often it's the lower grades which have the varieties/errors.

I just got all 5 of my uncirculated Peace coins back from PCGS. No signed ones unfortunately. All graded MS70, but from what I'm seeing on these, is super common and expected.

Haha John1. I have a couple times on other people's threads. Those come and go. I think we should just start a thread that is only on picture techniques. And everyone can post successful picture techniques with all methods. I use a digital microscope I've altered for defusing light, others have great techniques for using cell phones and some use a regular camera that works well.
I'd be willing to give some tips in a thread like that with the methods I use.
We would just have to keep bumping the thread to the top, and hope others read it.

Yes you are right. 049 is also similar to VV-006. Looks like most markers are in that first bay on the reverse. I will have the coin in hand tomorrow. I will take a look again for other markers.

VV-006 looks very similar to Double eddie- 030. Wexler has markers on that one.

You are correct Dearborn. 107 is the TDO. I see what looks like trippling better on the "U" in trust, in the first picture with the "u visible. This was a hard one to get the right lighting for doubling or tripling.
Also the "N" in "IN"

I thought this for FS-107 but getting it back from PCGS as fs-113. I'm not sure they they got it correct though? The mint mark location seems closer to fs-107, plus the die scratch between the "US" looks the same as the one on coppercoins stated as the die marker. I didn't see circular scratches on the memorial bays and roof for the 113 as shown/stated on Coppercoins.
Is this the correct attribution they put it under, or is this another screw up from PCGS?
They did use my coin for their front page on the fs-113 though.

If this is real, it would absolutely be worth slabbing.
I think CuJohn wants you to do the work yourself and tell us which on this is. I will get you closer. Here is the date page for Copper Coins.
