Darn. I suspected that would be the case. Thanks for verifying. No matter how many diagrams I study or videos I watch, I still struggle with being able to tell them apart.

Any chance this is DDR-001 or DDR-004?

The coin is too worn out with devices and MM flattened, I don't believe it would be possible to draw any reasonable conclusion on this one!

The MM is flattened on this coin even in MS. My attribution is correct. I'm questioning whether it warrants any premium since the coin is so worn.

Curious how you even took this "photo." I don't think I could come up with one that pixelated if I tried!

I just found this one. I'm fairly certain I've identified it correctly, but does it warrant much of a premium given the condition of the coin?

I just logged in for the first time in about three years. I took a long break from my coin collecting, but I feel the obsession coming back quickly. This is still one of my favorite coins because it was found in a "by the pound" lot of foreign coins.

I'm having a very difficult time gathering information on the rarity and approximate value of this DDO. I found this coin last night in a box of mixed "buy by the pound" foreign coins.

Any Brazil experts here?

I have come into possession of many sealed, uncirculated boxes of Presidential dollar coins (J. Adams and Jefferson). I don't want to mess with eBay, but I don't know how to go about locating a reputable dealer who might be interested in making a deal. Anyone have any recommendations?

$5 Confederate Note - T-36 Richmond September 2, 1861

I got it. I paid $50, which is on the high side based on recent eBay sales, but the condition is pretty good and I was really intrigued by the inscription. https://www.ebay.com/sch/i.html?_fr...045573.m1684

The inscription appears to be an obituary for a lady named Mary Stevens. I tried my best to transcribe the text, but I know I have about half of it wrong. I also think the writer probably meant to use "1817" and "1861" as the dates...but even using the 1861 date, Mary's date of death would pre-date the note. If anybody else wants to take a stab at transcribing this, I'd love the input!

Here's what I came up with...

Here is committed to the Earth the mortal pass of Mrs. Mary Stevens the wife of Dr. Rand Stevens she was born Oct. 25th 1717 live in sweetest conjugal love with her friend and lender husband but lived him 9 months and him went joyfully after Jan. 12th 1761 expressing her great desire to go home to her father's house Christian graces were exemplary in a kind lender week and quiet efficient and a very unoffensive life she died in the 44th year of her age

I'm considering purchasing this note at a local auction tonight. What would be your max price? I do not have better photos, nor will I be able to obtain them. I know the inscription on the back isn't really legible in this photo.

The 1981 SBA is a good find. I only average about one out of every 3-4 boxes. I think there will come a time that they will be worth a nice premium.

All proof coins
1981 SBA
2002-2008 SAC
All Presidential since 2012

SAC coins minted in 2013, 2014, and 2015 are very low mint, so even though they are circulated, I keep all of them.

I make a point to order from a Brinks bank and dump with only Loomis banks/credit unions. I may get somebody else's rejects, but I know I'm not getting my own. :)

I keep all 1979 near date SBA (average 2-3 per box), all 1981 SBA (NIFC), and all proof SBA.

For SACs, I keep all 2002-2008 (NIFC), all 2012-current (low mintage), all proofs, and I check the 2000P for speared eagle and Cheerios. I also pull out 2001 experimental rinse coins.

For Presidentials, I check the 2007 coins for missing writing on the rims. I keep proofs and NIFC. Every president since 2012 (4 presidents issued each year) is NIFC.
