I also buy two sets. It ends up being less expensive, I get them immediately from the mint and I have control over the quality. If a set isn't perfect, it goes back to the mint. When I break them out, I'm really careful not to contaminate them. Others selling individual coins are not as careful.

SaturnD51, I ordered five 2025 proof sets. None of them had the spots on the Lincoln cents that you've described. I think the odds are that your replacements would be good. Two quarters in my sets have what look to be smear marks on them. They're going back for replacement. The mint doesn't seem to have QC, so they get to pay for it one way or another.

jbuck, you're stirring me up. :) My response is that:
1) The mint is currently making enough off of the dimes, quarters, halves and dollar coins to cover their loss on the cents and nickels.
2) The mint will be making more overall with the production of the cent stopping.
3) The cost to produce S mint quarters is barely above that to produce D and P minted quarters that the mint is already profiting on. There's absolutely no need to mark them up multiples of their face value. It's simply a monopoly gouging. They could sell the S mint quarters at face + shipping + credit card fee and would still be raking it in.
4) Just because they can, doesn't mean they should.

Wow. The proof set mintage hasn't been lower than that since 1954. Sales continue to trend down, and the mint continues to raise the price.

Are the 2024 proof sets officially sold out? If so, what was the mintage?

AnotherMatt, The S mint marked uncirculated quarters have been available since 2012. No, they're not included with the mint sets, but I think they should be. Years ago, you could just buy the S mint rolls or bags. However, the mint changed it to where you can only get rolls of the S mint quarters in a PDS three roll set. That's a pretty crappy sales tactic in my opinion.

Will they privatize the US Mint? Scary times.

I'd definitely be for that! There's no doubt that a lot of waste is being covered up by the seigniorage.

What would be a cool thing to do is do W mint marks quarters with a 250 privy and release into circulation in limited amounts similar (exactly) like they did for the 75th anniversary of the end of WW2 in 2020.

NO! That is, unless they allow collectors to buy them from the mint as well. I've been buying the quarter sets from the mint for years. Everything was complete up until they did the drop of the W quarters. My loyalty to the mint products got me nothing. Mostly what was accomplished is that a bunch of people with first access to quarters made money. My daughter and I have been searching our quarters since the release. She literally found the only one for us about three weeks ago. The quantity in circulation was far too little to keep young children motivated to find them. Plus, I want uncirculated quarters, not almost uncirculated ones.

If they do the C&C set, it would be fun if they also issued a 2025 Susan B. Anthony coin for it. Although it being a failure, maybe not so fitting.

I think having a Carter dollar along with a "Carter quarter" in a C&C set would be great.

I received two sets. Unfortunately, one of the Morgans has a scratch along the cheek. I looked at the mint's website and noticed that they're no longer available. I think that it's either keep this one or return for a refund.

Seems like the damage should have been easily found at some point in the quality control process.

What makes you think there's a quality control process?

Dearborn, Mine is the same way and there are no charges on my credit card. Now I'm getting nervous.

Have anyone receive anything from the mint a receipt as a subscriber, I'm new as one or do you get one you subscribe.

I received an email saying that one of my coins has shipped.

Its a shame that FIJI made proof Morgan and Peace dollars already. They beat the US Mint at their own game and even made them scarce at 3500 of each type (Morgan S,D,O,CC/Peace D,S). Fiji also made reverse proofs (same mint marks/mintage) in 2022.

It's not the supply that determines the market price. It's the supply to demand ratio.

They just needed to find an equitable way to sell them.

If they only manufacture 10% more than the subscriptions, then I think they will have hit the nail on the head. Literally nobody can complain that they were not given an opportunity. Keep in mind that they've published maximum mintages. They don't have to produce that quantity.

For mintages where the demand will exceed the maximum mintage, I think they should allow priority purchasing by those who have purchased the series in the past.

There could be many reasons: high mintage, high price, no 2022's, low interest in them as a series.

You missed the biggest factor. Many people flush with government handouts were sitting at home with nothing better to do than to buy coins in order to flip them. Most people are back to work now and money is getting tighter.

If they can get a waiting room to work, then I'm all for it. They could then give priority to customers who have been regularly purchasing products for years as opposed to putting flippers who could care less about coins on equal footing with us. I have a complete ASE collection and missed the initial sale of the 2019 S ERP. It was only blind luck that I logged in on afternoon and found them momentarily for sale.

It came as part of the Explore and Discover set. Since they certified it, it had to have been received in a sealed box by PCGS within 30 days of the set's release. It's a complete waste of money in my opinion, but someone will probably buy it.
