The Royal Canadian Mint has, for a number of years, been making the weird and wonderful and calling them coins. A starship Enterprise shaped coin is a good example. I've given up asking questions, but stick with smiling to myself when the item is seen. |

it weighs 5.9 grams and is 17-19 mm across.
This also was part of a "shopping channel" lot that was identified as a "bronze Queen Diddi Rani Stater, 979-1003 CE"
It definitely looks like a Kashmir Stater of that period, but I am not sure if the ruler identification is correct. Other sources spell the ruler as Didda Rani. |

No 1 cent coins were minted after 2012. The vast numbers of existing one cent coins were supposed to be taken to banks to get redeemed and ultimately destroyed, and it didn't take long before merchants stopped accepting them. That is still taking place but on a very small scale now compared to 2012. Huge quantities still remain in collections and hoards, and my guess is that will still be the case decades from now. I therefore doubt that most will ever be worth much. The Canadian large 1 cent was withdrawn in the 1930s but there are still plenty of the common dates available. |

Excluding a few varieties, most of the cents from 1937 to 2012 can be obtained for very little. You could probably buy a nearly complete set from a dealer for 5 cents a piece, if you settle for average circulated condition. Certainly my LCS will sell them for that little as they are always getting collections.
A few years ago one of our members in the US assembled a complete collection with the help of some Canadian members. You have enough posts so consider posting in the buy or trade section of the forum. |

@Machin, I have an archbishopric of Cologne for 1745, if you want to play again your province of Holland for 1766!
Also, I have a 1743 from the city of Hamm (no, the food was not invented here), that I can replace for 1743 for Hungary, if someone has another date, and
a 1721 from Sitten if someone can replace the Spain entry. |
