I suspect it's a FS variety due to the two mintmarks being of different styles (Sans Serif/Serif) because it is an absolutely terrible RPM to spot.

Nice 26 S Buffalo!

Yesterday I picked up $30 in MWR and pulled out a 44 P in pretty rough shape and this one below in the next roll.

Today, I visited a branch I haven't been to in well over a month and picked up 20 CWR. Among the finds were these:

Two key dates in two days.time to buy lottery tickets, and yes, that proof reverse is rotated about 20 degrees CCW!

Another FS variety I came across in the huge lot of LWC my dad left to me. I have never once come across one in all my years of searching and certainly didn't expect to find it in this lot. Thanks for leaving us some good ones, Pop!

Thanks for the good vibes, fellas! My dad actually had no interest in varieties which is why I think there is some variety enrichment in this huge lot. In fact in going through his tubes of 1938 S LWC I have found several FS-501 and -502 as well as a couple DDRs.

He was almost 92 and I feel lucky to have had 48 1/2 years with the guy. Lots of great memories.

My dad passed away about a month ago and left a sizeable LWC collection to me, which includes several albums as well as dozens and dozens of tubed bulk wheats. In going through them, I've been finding a LOT of varieties including this one. Not a fan of the carbon spot but it's a such a solid RPM (here in Stage F).

I'll photograph more of the finds over the coming weeks, while I absorb many of these into my own collection and prepare to sell duplicates from my own years of collecting.

Scenario 2 seems not unlike the situation described in a YouTube short I saw within the last couple of weeks.

So far 18 2024 P and 6 2024 D. I'm about 10 miles west of the Philly mint FWIW.

Notably ALL of the 2024 D I have found have come exclusively from customer-wrapped rolls; the 2024 P both machine- and customer-wrapped rolls.

And thus far not a single 2025 from either mint!

For most, I do. This old clipper is so bunged up I figure a fingerprint or two isn't gonna do much!

A brief update since the last one.

10 silver dimes mostly from CWR: 52 P, 63 D, 64 P x 2, 56 P x 2, 63 P, 59 P, 64 D, 46 P plus this one which has apparently been circulating for roughly 42 years! Has even seen life as an ender, unfortunately. Blakesley effect shows nicely.

Some banks might offer you limited access without an account - for example PNC bank (here in SE PA) will offer non-customers $20 in change per visit. Worth checking around.

One of my Wells Fargo branches was very hesitant recently to dole out CWR of dimes since they "can't guarantee" what's in them as you are experiencing (likely due to complaints of short rolls). This came back to bite me in the backside just yesterday as I took in $80 of dime CWR that were short 2-5 dukes PER ROLL (at a different branch).

Sorry, digressing here but I find so much variation from one branch to the next that perhaps just visiting some other branches might prove fruitful.

One of my favorite tellers almost cried a few months ago when she told me she had taken in a roll of silver quarters and forgot to hold onto them for me. Then I almost cried too!

That is a clear 6FS and IMHO a 65-65+...perhaps even a 66 (reverse rim at 9:00 may be only detraction).

E&V, thanks for pointing this out! Barely any reeding on the edge of this coin.only on a little bit of the rim on either side of the "fat lip". Not the railroad track I'm used to seeing with partial collar. Great info and I'm learning new stuff today!

Sorry for the poor photos but a slightly off-center 2008 P Arizona quarter. First one I've found roll hunting.

Back for a quick update.

In the last few weeks dimes were super slow. Since my last post above I found 3 silver dimes (43 P, 47 P, 62 D) and a 2007 S clad proof all in MWR. I gave my favorite local branches a break for the past two weeks and that certainly played well, as today $90 in CWR gave up SIX silver dimes: 54 D and 5 x 1964 P. The 64s are gorgeous specimens that seem have found their way into circulation only recently - and they were all in a single roll along with that 54 D.

EXCELLENT scores! I too am blown away by rolls full of benjis and walkers...and the presumed lack of curiosity about their collector value since the dates and designs are right there to see.

No big scores lately, but did come across 5 40%ers in the last 2 days loose in teller trays: a 66, two 67s, a 68 D and a 69 D. Still out there and now two tellers u see stand why I keep asking for halves every time I show up!

Continuing to have some decent luck, including a 42 P silver nickel; a 2007 S proof and a 1974 S proof that's been in circuation a VERY long time; a couple more 2024s (P and D) plus 2009s (P and D); and a few early 60s BU examples. Nothing spectacular or photo worthy but spicy hunts are always welcome.

SLOW going again here with silver dimes. Since my last post (51S, 2009 S clad proof) above, a total of 9 silver dimes with no additions to the circ Roosevelt album. No complaints finding silver, but back to the typically inefficient dime hunting, with LOTS of clad and short rolls to locate a silver dime.

Since 21 Feb:
1948 D
1956 P x 2
1962 D x 3
1962 P
1963 D
1964 P
