No DDO in Wexler's, Variety Vista, or CopperCoins...but interesting to a novice like me. Deteriorated die maybe? looked at it closer after seeing some thickness in the 9 & 7...thanks for your continual knowledge :-).
a new buy... have not taken closeups yet. if this is high enough to slab ?... I will put it under microscope before sending it out...I'm still learning but I have not seen a raw "steely" this nice. hope all is well and have a wonderful holiday season!
T-bop - maybe I'm using wrong term? Purchase a unopened roll with markings from a San Francisco bank . bought it for the end coin 1957 Flying eagle. Not fed reserve roll. what term should use? TY for your help.
nice coin / ms64RB... here's how I see it ...maybe 5% red is still there... but a ding for the strike and last "T" in trust. ( I do like the reverse clash)
cropped and resent reverse... to me, the reverse is normal in hand... no issues with color...(maybe/hopefully the obverse is just a little toned I dont yet have the experience yet to see it) well, either way, I do love this coin :-) TY ... will try to take pics your way PANZ
picked this up a while ago and just now looking at it. going to eventually get better pics... the brightness of these pictures are obscuring some details. hoping this was not artificially colored at some point...
My original posts about this raw coin are over a year old so I'm posting a follow-up with a pic of the coin slab ... and mainly to THANK the Coin Community Family!!! THANK YOU FOR ALL YOUR HELP!!!! (note: the color of slabbed coin is deceiving...just a picture I took last night)
I believe it should have been at least an XF Details because a Columbia blank is thinner and could never have been fully struck. I see a lot of Philly's... no other DENVER's so I was wondering if this is a "one of a kind /Denver"?
wheatmen77 - the vast majority of the time pics DO help the experts lead the newbies, like me, in the right direction... however.. as the experts say "Coin in the hand trumps everything" :-)
PCGS indicated TrueView pics uploads are two weeks behind...but here is the slab (unboxed tonight)...a big THANK YOU to CC for the help and education... love the hobby!
Has been authenticated by PCGS as a wrong planchet mint error..." stuck on a Colombia two Centavos". have not unboxed yet & they're a couple of weeks behind uploading a trueVeiw image. I will post a pic of the slab for the community this weekend. TY all for your help! :-)
three months ago I finally decided to send it to PCGS... I was notified last night it's on its way back and my research is correct ... coin was struck on a Colombia 2 centavos blank by Denver mint that year. :-) I will post the slab when I get it back.
