Hello.

I am having trouble trying to identify this bronze Ptolemaic piece. I thought maybe Berenike or one of the Cleopatras? Weight is 4.4g.

Help would be appreciated.

Thanks

I don't know much about Charles other than that he practiced in Seaforth Ontario and died there in 1935.

Here is a neat pick up of mine.

It is a gold medal from Trinity Medical College in Toronto. It was awarded to Charles Mackay in 1891.
As you can see in this excerpt from a Trinity College calendar, it shows all the medal recipients for that year.

Truly an interesting piece.

Hi, I have these 2 medals that I can't figure out.

The first one is Dutch and dated 1783.
I found a small write-up about it but no other information whatsoever:

"Medal on the reinforcement of the bourgeoisie, abolition of stadholder's recommandations and the release of city councils for all denominations in Utrecht, penning footage copper gold metal, Utrecht city virgin seated under throne heaven hands gun to liberation corporist; with her foot paper on which RECOMMANDATION Left in background: the Dom Tower, UTECHTSE BURGERY ARMED DEN 24 JUNE 1783 RECOMANMANDATION ABOLISHED 11 AUG 1783 TO SUPPORT OF FREEDOM (circular in oak tree wreath) militaria"

The second medal is dated 1882 and portrays a Uruguayan colonel, Juan Belinzon. The medal has something to do with the arts.

Any help would be appreciated.

I believe it was a study by John Kleeburg that categorized different circulating Spanish counterfeits into catalogue numbers.

Hello,
I have recently come across this brass imitation of a Lima mint 1798 2 reales.
I believe there is a catalogue out there somewhere that lists all the different imitation Spanish American pieces but I don't have access to it.

Any help identifying its variety/catalogue number and value would be greatly appreciated.

Hi, I hope this isn't too many but here are a few Oriental coins that have me stumped. Some of them I can tell the region but exact ID I am not sure.

From left to right, top to bottom, the weights are as follows:
Coin 1. 4.94g (I believe to be a Shakya Janapada 5 Shana but not sure exact variety)
Coin 2. 11.17g
Coin 3. 11.93g
Coin 4. 3.94g
Coin 5. 4.55g (Tibetan, but not sure exact ID)
Coin 6. 10.44g
Coin 7. 3.07g
Coin 8. 7.05g
Coin 9. 2.6g
Coin 10. 5.6g
Coin 11. 2.19
Coin 12. 9g
Coin 13. 10.17g
Coin 14. 4.18g
Coin 15. 1.44g

Thanks,
William
