A well struck coin from not too tired dies (IMO) I'm thinking MS-64/65. But darn from the video it almost looks like a polished coin in my eyes, can't wait to hear what other members have to say.
to CCF. I always suggest that new members to this hobby read through the numismatic glossary (located on the left side of every screen) it's a quick easy read from A to Z. Have fun collecting and good luck to future finds.
Quote: around the idea of it being ground or sanded down. It seems to "clean" in the silver areas, and overall. I would expect that any rough handling or grinding/sandling, intentional or not, would cause very visible scratches or other digs and dings.
Keep in mind this cent has bee around the block a time or two...(like 35 years)
History of the US Mint(s) and their purpose. Philly started it all.......ect. Dahlonega Mint and New Orleans why they were needed and are no longer in operation. Denver and Carson City................... San Francisco...... circ. coins and proofs......West Point proofs and bullions. Try to keep subject matter condensed and maybe allow expansion to happen through the students questions. Show examples of any coins you have , I would show raw coins vs slabbed. People I show coins to are always surprised at the size of large cents, 3CS's, half dimes and Morgan/Pease dollars. Easy to fill 4 to 5 days with just this small topic...IMO Edited:

United States coinage used to be gold, silver and copper until it became debased.
Although these coins have been circulated....remember please...no rubbing with a clean cloth to remove grease or finger prints. One should only use 100% Acetone and bathe the coin, rinse with clean running water than pat dry or another bath in virgin Acetone, then let air dry.
Quote: "Original red" on and around the braid IMO may have been from something being on the coin in that area for some time protecting the surface, which since has been removed. With the reverse I'd like to see more of a chocolate brown and less of a pink toning that I'm seeing on the leaves. I'm feeling cleaned and has since re-toned. Let's wait and see how others feel.
